Subject: URGENT: Seek Shelter Immediately – Tornado Warning for Dover Area
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for the Dover area. A tornado has been reported near Route 13, south of campus, and hazardous weather conditions are impacting the region.
TAKE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY.
All members of the campus community should:
- Move to the lowest level of the nearest sturdy building.
- Stay in an interior room, hallway, or designated shelter area.
- Remain away from windows, doors, and exterior walls.
- Do not remain outdoors or attempt to travel until conditions improve.
- If you are in a vehicle, seek shelter inside a substantial building immediately.
Remain sheltered until an official all-clear message is issued by Delaware State University or local emergency officials.
The Office of Emergency Management is actively monitoring conditions in coordination with the National Weather Service, Delaware State University Police Department, and local emergency management partners.
