GENERAL FACULTY MEETING RESCHEDULED TO FRIDAY AT NOON

The General Faculty Meeting has been rescheduled from Thursday, May 7, to Friday, May 8, 2026, at 12 p.m. 

 

Due to graduation being moved to a later date this year, a scheduling conflict arose with the May Faculty Meeting and the final exam schedule. To accommodate this conflict, the meeting has been moved to the new date and time.

SUSAN YOUNG BROWNE, OLDEST LIVING DSU ALUM, CELEBRATES 108TH YEAR

Delaware State University’s oldest living alumna, Susan Young Browne, celebrated her 108th birthday surrounded by more than 130 family members, friends and supporters on Friday, May 2, at the Harvest House fellowship hall of Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Dover. RESEARCHER DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK WORKSHOP | MAY 20

Delaware State University faculty and doctoral students are invited to participate in a virtual Researcher Development Framework Workshop presented by the ARC Playbook on Wednesday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.


 

The workshop is designed to help researchers better understand and manage their career development by exploring key knowledge areas tied to successful research careers. Participants will reflect on their competencies, interests, career values and motivations while gaining insight into a variety of professional development areas.


 

Topics include:
• Knowledge and intellectual abilities
• Personal effectiveness
• Research governance and organization
• Engagement, influence and impact

The Assessment Office and Provost’s Office invite faculty and staff to join us for the annual Assessment Summit, taking place virtually on Wednesday, May 13, from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

This year’s theme, “The Assessment Garden: Cultivating a Culture of Evidence,” invites us to come together to plant purposeful seeds, nurture data-informed practices, and harvest insights that strengthen student success and institutional effectiveness.


 

Following an inspiring keynote, the summit will feature interactive 30-minute breakout sessions led by DSU faculty, staff, and external presenters—offering practical strategies, fresh ideas, and opportunities to learn from one another.

INVESTING 101 FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE | MAY 12

Delaware State University Campus Health Services is partnering with Castleview Wealth LLC to host “Investing 101 for a Brighter Future,” a virtual session focused on financial and personal stressors that can impact overall health.


 

The session will be led by DSU alumna and financial professional Jessica Sarter, who will guide participants through important financial topics and strategies for navigating everyday challenges.


 

The virtual event will take place on Tuesday, May 12, from 11 a.m. to noon.

HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS FORM DATE EXTENDED 

The deadline for submitting nominations for Delaware State University’s Hall of Fame has been extended to Friday, May 29.

​Eligible candidates include former Hornet student-athletes who graduated or fulfilled their eligibility before 2021, having participated in at least two years of one or more sports. Nominations are also welcome for former Delaware State University coaches, administrators, and supporters of the university's athletics program. The deadline for nominations is Friday, May 29.
