The University will hold its 2026 Undergraduate and Graduate Commencement Ceremonies at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively, on Friday, May 15.
The keynote speakers will be Thasunda Brown Duckett, President and CEO of TIAA, for the undergraduate ceremony and Rosie Allen-Herring, the newly named President and Chief Executive Officer of United Way Worldwide, for the graduate ceremony. Read full story

SGAES DISSERTATION BOOT CAMP | MARCH 31 & APRIL 2

The School of Graduate, Adult and Extended Studies is hosting a virtual Dissertation Boot Camp designed to help graduate students strengthen their academic writing and move forward with confidence.

This series will offer practical strategies to help students organize research, improve academic writing, and master APA formatting. Support is available for dissertations, research papers, manuscripts, and scholarly projects.

The virtual series will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and includes “Word 101” on Tuesday, March 31 and “How to Craft the Literature Review” on Thursday, April 2.

COLLEGE STUDENTS WANTED FOR SLEEP HEALTH STUDY

|
|
|
|
|
Are you interested in getting involved with research? Delaware State University and the University of Delaware are looking for college students across the state to take part in a sleep health research study.
Participants will visit the research site twice for less than 90 minutes total, wear a watch-like device for seven days and nights, complete a seven-day sleep log, and answer questionnaires related to demographics, social indices, and sleep habits.

Eligible students can earn up to $50 for participating.

Yao Zia completed a Doctoral Dissertation Defense on Friday, March 20 at 10 a.m. The dissertation is titled “A Modified Nonlinear Lorentz Model for Third-Order Optical Nonlinearity.”
